Frame Relay
Q: What is Frame Relay?
A: Frame relay is a network circuit provided by the telephone
company in your area which connects you to the ISP (Internet Service Provider)
of your choice. You can also connect to other offices you may have and you can
connect at speeds that begin at 56k and go up to T1 and beyond!
| WebPerception provides the best Frame Relay and Fractional T1 internet connectivity and associated services (Email, DNS, FTP, HTTP, etc.) available! |
| Is
Frame Relay for you? |
||||
| You need Frame Relay if your
computing needs meet any of the following four criteria: |
||||
Your computers are connected to a Local Area
Network (LAN).WebPerception's connectivity services are available to you only if you have networked your computers on a LAN. The size of the LAN does not matter. Your LAN can accomodate any number of computers (from one to thousands) and still be compatible with WebPerception's services. |
||||
You require a more economical solution than
ISDN.If you use the Internet several hours a day, it may be less expensive to rent a frame relay circuit from the phone company rather than renting an ISDN circuit or using modem dialup. WebPerception supports not only frame relay, but dialup accounts as well. |
||||
You require a minimum data transfer rate of 56
Kbps and you require connectivity at a competitive rate.WebPerception takes the data (from the phone company providing your frame relay circuit) and relays it to the Internet at the fastest data transfer rate that current technology allows. |
||||
You are located within the Pacific Bell LATA in
Northern California.WebPerception serves over 20,000 square miles from Crescent City to Gilroy, covering all of Area Codes 707, 510, 415, and most of the 408 area, excluding San Benito and Monterey Counties. This is true regardless of your local phone company. We are expanding quickly, so contact us for coverage in your area. |

| WebPerception Router
Prices Routers come rated for different data transfer rates. Make sure that your router can handle the maximum data transfer rate you expect to exploit in the next year or so. Forecasting your data transfer requirements will save you the time and trouble of buying a slower router now, only to have to upgrade to a faster one soon afterward. |

/ Data Service Unit) You will need a CSU / DSU (Channel Service Unit / Data Service Unit) to connect to the phone company's circuit. WebPerception offers two models depending on your data transfer needs. The first model connects to a low capacity circuit up to 56 Kbps. The second model is for T1 or fractional T1 speeds. |

Pacific Bell offers two types
of circuits: Digital Data Service (DDS) has a much lower monthly
cost but is limited to 56K bps throughput. Performance at this level is equal
to a 128K bps ISDN line, in most cases. (see * Note) "HiCap"
service is a full T1, where you decide the port speed and budget that best fits
your needs. If you need more capacity, upgrading is incredibly easy with little
or no change for your business. * Note: Pacific Bell may charge a new installation fee if you decide to switch circuit types. |
